Other Volunteer Opportunities
Many organizations around Charleston depend upon volunteers to make their missions successful. Please consider donating your time to these organizations that many of our DSAL members enjoy participating in.
Are you involved in an organization that enriches the lives of our members with Down Syndrome and needs volunteers? Let us know, and we would gladly add you to this page!
Beyond Basic
Beyond BASIC assists adults with intellectual disabilities in becoming contributing members of society by providing a program that enables independent living skills beyond the basics. Our curriculum provides tools and develops skills in an individualized program that fosters independence to the fullest extent while advocating a movement for inclusion within the community.
We are in need of some enthusiastic and fun loving friends to help us throughout the day! Beyond BASIC loves adding new friends to the team, and we promise you will have a blast while making an impact in the lives of our teammates. We are currently here Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9am to 5pm. We are extremely flexible, and you can sign up for as many hours as you wish. Please contact us at beyondbasiclifeskills@gmail.com to find out more!
